I just came home with no idea what to cook and not really any hunger for mushrooms – but they were nearly the only thing in my fridge.
After having set up a pot with steaming carrots to make carrots and peas, I thought about what to add. And finally had the greatest idea in a long time.
It’s terribly simple, messy and yummy – and quick to prepare.
1 box mushrooms, about 250g
Click off the stems of the mushrooms and clean them with a damp cloth. Place in bowl, drizzle about 2 tablespoons hoisin sauce over and mix well, until covered.
Add two generous tablespoons corn starch and immediately mix through, until every mushroom is coated.
Heat up the oil, place the mushrooms in the pan and fry until crisp. Turn over and fry the other side until crisp. BE CAREFUL and use a protection lid against fat spils (have no clue how that’s called).(no kids, animals or clumsy hubbies should be allowed in the kitchen at frying)
And done are amazingly tasty, not boring at all mushrooms!
